  Robert Fishbourne, later Rev. Robert, is the most promising candidate to be the father of my Great Great Grandfather Peter Henry Fishbourne, born 1819. Robert is listed as his (third?) son in Robert Moore Fishbourne's will. He appears in Alumni Dublinensis as entering Trinity College Dublin at the age of 14, on November 6 1814, son of Robert, Generosis (Gent.) b. Carlow. He graduated B.A. Vern. 1821, and M.A. November 1832. The only other Robert Fishbourne known to be around in or relating to Carlow at the right time was Robert's father, Robert Moore Fishbourne, who was born in 1765, and was therefore 54 in 1819 when Peter Henry was born. Rev. Robert married in 1833, Jane Green, and had five children who would be (theoretically) half brothers and sisters to Peter Henry. The youngest of these, John William Yorke Fishbourne, b. 1842, qualified as a doctor and came to Australia in 1869 where he married and worked in the mental health system before setting up in private practice. He seems to have been medical officer at the mental hospital in Ararat, a large country town in western Victoria, from about 1872 to 1877. My GGM Eliza Germaine nee Fishbourne, Peter Henry's eldest daughter, also lived in the same town, where she had been married in 1866. I wonder if she knew that the doctor was her (maybe?) uncle ?
