Transcribed by Karyn Findlay. Information I have is from Emily's daughter Dorothy Ellen Brust (deceased ) daughters Judith & Colleen. They told me Robert William Acland was the captain owner of his ship and was drowned in the China sea trying to save a crewman washed overboard in a storm. The crewman was saved but Robert was exhausted and unable to get back on his ship, I don't know if his body was saved or not. Robert's ship, The Souvenir, was owned by Cummins and Company. Foreign arrivals and sailing - 2/6/1880 Manila, April 17th - Souvenir, Acland, from Hong Kong.
